Nursing Policy: Is it a public health issue?
Northwest Health Foundation president Thomas Aschenbrener’s recent opinion article in the Oregonian generated varied responses both online, over the phone, and in person.
Clearly the extent to which our nation enables aspiring nurses, and nursing faculty, to fulfill their goals is a health care policy issue.
But is it a public health issue?
After all, much of the work of public health departments, both at the state and local level, is conducted by nurses.
