Chris serves as the primary program officer for the Foundation’s physical activity and nutrition programs and the Kaiser Permanente Community Fund. In this role, Chris works with the Grants Committee, the advisory committees of the Kaiser Permanente Community Fund and the Alliance Promoting Physical Activity and Nutrition fund to design and implement grant programs; coordinates the activities of grantees and other community partners to maximize impact; and provides technical assistance, guidance and support to grantees. He joined the Foundation in 2005.

Previously, Chris served as director of foundation relations at the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation. In this role, he directed OHSU’s strategies for foundation solicitations in support of the university’s $300 million capital campaign, wrote grant proposals and cultivated private foundation support.

Chris holds a master’s of public health degree from Portland State University and a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from the University of Southern California.
