Even Bill Gates and his foundation realized to have maximum impact, they needed the right partners. Northwest Health Foundation decided that early on, and Kevin’s role at the foundation is to work with and guide our partners – both new and established – to help all accomplish more together than any could alone.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Kevin led a nationally recognized consulting business serving nonprofit clients throughout the western United States and Canada. His work focused on connecting vision and ideas with the resources – people, networks, money, media – to make good ideas reality. He is the author of The Power of Legacy and Planned Gifts: How Donors and Nonprofits Can Change the World, published by Jossey-Bass/Wiley. 

Kevin has a mix of business and nonprofit experience. He helped start three technology based companies in Silicon Valley and a service company employing 34 in Kentucky. He also managed a mid-size consulting firm providing executive leadership training throughout the United States, and later served as the acting deputy director of a national management training center serving more 21,000 students. He was also the executive director of a state political party and is a once upon a time broadcast reporter.

Kevin and his wife Stephanie live in Portland where they have jammed as many fruit trees, blueberry bushes, and winter squash plants as they could into what used to be the lawn.
